New Conference Facility for High Leigh, Hoddesdon

zero carbon homes

We are delighted to be working again with Christian Conference Trust at their second campus; High Leigh Conference Centre, Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire.

Leap Architects have submitted a planning application with Broxbourne Borough Council to extend the largest meeting room, ‘Yew Tree’ meeting room, and provide a new 350-seat meeting venue.

The main new build meeting room is a relatively straightforward steel portal frame structure, incorporating a sliding folding partition installed to subdivide the new space to provide acoustic separation between the two spaces for simultaneous use by two groups. PV panels are proposed on the south facing pitch of the new roof and air source heat pump plant on an area of flat roof. The smaller existing meeting room, the ‘Mulberry Room’, is repurposed as a plant room and store and the existing toilets are remodeled.

As well as the main 350-seat hall, a covered walkway will be added to provide protection from the elements on the circulation route from the main building with a terrace above accessed from the dining room.

A new foyer / break out space is proposed and another sliding folding partition to allow part of the space to be used as an occasional meeting room.
